Michael Stirton LLB (Leeds) FCI Arb

 
 

Michael founded Greenhouse Stirton & Co in 1977 with Geoffrey Greenhouse and has specialised since that time in private client work. He formerly acted and advised on major disputes in medical negligence and personal injury and acted for a group of private hospitals and a number of charitable foundations. He now specialises in work relating to mental incapacity and the Court of Protection. He has since 1991 acted as Deputy to many clients of the Court of Protection with wide ranging disabilities such as brain injury, learning difficulties, dementia and mental illness. In 2001 he was appointed to the Office of the Public Guardian’s panel of deputies. He has given evidence to the High Court on Court of Protection and Deputy’s fees and expenses.

Michael is an accredited mediator having been trained and accredited by both the School of Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regents College London and the Notre Dame Law School USA.

Michael is married, has three children and lives in North London.

Pro Bono

  • On many occasions Michael is requested to act pro bono at the request of the Court of Protection and the Office of the Public Guardian.
